SOMEONE LOST THEIR JOB

A dream forewarning of an event to come.

In this dream, I am merely standing somewhere.  A young woman tells me she has been fired from her job.  I know her in the dream.

SIGNIFICANT SYMBOLS:

Woman- an idea, project, or person who is represented by the symbol of the woman with similar characteristics and/or behaviors.

Work-One’s present occupation and/or one’s duty or obligation.  One’s feelings about work or what is going on there.

Sometimes I receive information about others when I am dreaming.  This information is about someone I know.  They have been fired from their job.  This dream could also have a second meaning-the person who has been fired has also changed their feelings about the work in question.  In other words, the experience has changed their minds on whether or not the work is right for them.  This person thought this would be a great entry level position to get where she wanted to be and instead found that the work itself is not something she enjoyed.  Time to do something else.

I am not given arbitrary information about others.  I receive information on other people when it effects me in some fashion-physically/mentally/emotionally/etc.  Generally, when I receive advance information on others, it gives me the opportunity to decide how I will react to the event or news.  Will I react in a positive fashion or a negative fashion? Will I be supportive or dismissive?  Will I at least keep my reactions to myself and not make the situation worse?  This kind of advance notice of an event has helped me to avoid making matters worse on several occasions.

BODY IN THE HOUSE

Dreamed I was speaking with a woman I knew.  She had just moved into a house owned by someone else.  The former tenant, a man, had weighed around a thousand pounds and died in the house.  I could see his body in the living room.  He appeared to have died while he was sitting cross-legged on the floor.  He was ghostly white and naked and had a waxy appearance.  Police and firefighters were called in to remove the body, but after some discussion they told the woman they could not move his body.  It would have to stay there forever.  She now needed to decide how to live with and around the body in her home.  She decided to do that.

SIGNIFICANT SYMBOLS:

Woman- can represent the emotional, intuitive, family, or maternal instincts.  An idea, project, or person who is represented by the symbol of the woman with similar characteristics and/or behaviors.

Moving- can correspond to a change or progression in understanding or consciousness.

House- one’s personality or current situation or experience. The status of one’s state of consciousness.

Living Room- one’s state of mind or environment.  Could correspond to one’s daily activities or a more formal and public life.

Man- corresponds to the masculine side of one’s nature.  Masculine traits-strength, courage, determination, virility.  Independence.

Body/Corpse- something that has come to an end.

Weight/Fat- something excessive, overweight, overly pronounced, or very productive.

Police- corresponds to the law (man-made or universal). Could represent one’s own conscience.

Firefighters- help to overcome strong emotions or a burning issue or putting out that which inflames a situation.

I am receiving information about someone I know (speaking to a woman).  She is changing her current situation or experience or consciousness (moving into a house).  In this consciousness, there is thinking and/or activity (man) which has come to an end (dead body).  It involves daily activities (living room). This thinking and/or activity has masculine qualities (male) and was very excessive (weight/fat).  The universal laws (police) are applied to try and permanently remove the remains of this thinking and/or activity.  Other help is called upon to overcome the residual strong emotions that remain (firefighters).  But it appears impossible to permanently remove the residual remains of the thinking and/or activity.  Even though it is no longer active, its presence will always be felt within this thinking.  The woman is accepting of that and chooses to stay.

After I had this dream, I had a conversation  with someone I know who has a tendency to severely overdo certain activities.  This can have a very negative effect on her life.  But she told me she had managed to gain control and would no longer be overdoing it.  She perhaps wishes she could completely eliminate the thinking and/or emotions she has which cause her to overdo this activity.  But she can’t.  That thinking and/or emotions will always be there and will be something she will just have to work around as she makes better decisions.

This is what happens to people who are alcoholics, drug addicts, shopaholics, gambling addicts, etc.  The thinking/feelings that produced the addiction never leave.  Those are always there.  If the person chooses to make healthier choices, they must work around the thinking/feelings. Recognize and respect what you think/feel, but don’t allow it to harm you.  Work on replacing the negative thinking/feelings with positive thinking/feelings.  It is a constant struggle for most people.

DYING EAGLE

I was walking through a park-like area, on my way to do something.  A large black bird was flying overhead as I passed by a bridge.  Suddenly, it swooped down in front of me and then up.  I was startled and watched as it flew over again and swooped down in front of me for the second time and then up.  My heart started pounding as I thought of the Native American belief that if a bird flies down in front of you three times it means someone is going to die.  The bird seemed to fly off and then suddenly was back.  He swooped down a third time and then up.  As he passed over the bridge he suddenly fell straight down and landed hard on it.  I could see his neck had been cut open and assumed this was why he had died.  The bird raised its head and told me, “It is true that if a bird swoops down in front of you three times that means someone will die.”  He laid his head back down, dead again, and then after a few seconds spread his wings and flew off.  I could see then that he was an American Eagle.

SIGNIFICANT SYMBOLS:

Walking-associated with one’s current activities, situation, state of mind or journey.

Park-can correspond to growth or recreation.

Bird-the bearer of a message. A black bird may deliver a bad omen, a message, or indicate death.

Three-trinity; body, mind, spirit. Ability to communicate.

Flying-journey freely through understanding.

Bridge-a transformation or journey of understanding.

Dead (death)-the end of an idea, an experience, a project or relationship.  Symbolic of a transition or change.

Throat-one’s voice, words, ability to communicate. Metaphorically, cut one’s throat-deliberate attempt to do one in.

Eagle-power or majesty. A North American Bald Eagle-the United States of America and/or the values it represents.

I am passing through my current activities or situation (walking) during a period of growth or recreation (park).  I am given a message (black bird flying down in front of me three times) that an idea, experience, project or relationship is coming to an end (death).  This knowledge will come to me because of a transformation or journey of understanding (bridge).  It is verified to me that the message of a bird flying down in front of one three times does indeed indicate death, at least in the dream world (the crow speaking directly to me). I become aware that this change or transformation has been done deliberately and viciously (cut throat).  This is a deliberate attempt to end the United States of America or the ideals that the United States of America represents (sliced throat of an American Bald Eagle).  Yet the values/message of the USA rises again (bird flying away).

This seems to indicate my observations of what is happening in the USA now in our society. There are two very disparate points of view of the direction the USA should take politically, economically, socially, etc.  I fear the great change that others seem intent on creating, because in my view it will cause the death of the values that have made our country strong and filled with opportunity for those willing to work.  But the message at the end of the dream seems to indicate that those same values will rise again in spite of what is done and what will be done.

This dream could also pertain particularly to me or to someone I love and the circumstances that affect us.  That I and/or they will go through a period of time where we will lose our belief and hope in the American Dream.  But it will rise again.

It seems like a sad thing to happen, but hope is shown at the end.

BUYING MEDICINE

Funny dream.

I was with my husband at the grocery store.  We stopped in the medicine aisle.  My husband picked up four bottles of Pepto-Bismol and placed them in our grocery cart.  The bottles were gallon size containers.  He didn’t say anything.  I was astonished he would buy so much medicine,  especially since we hardly ever use medicine.  And I couldn’t imagine why he would need so much of it even if he didn’t feel good.

SIGNIFICANT SYMBOLS:

Husband-actual husband or what he represents to me.  Suggests literal aspects of the relationship with one’s husband.

Store/Restaurant- a place where one might buy any need, idea, or possibility (i.e. physical-literal diet or food for thought; mental-a new image or attitude; spiritual- where to search next in one’s journey)

Four-associated with stability, materiality, and something that is of the earth.

Medicine/Drugs- may be associated with either a source of healing or a source of escape.

Stomach- associated with digestion and assimilation (food, ideas, emotions, etc.)

I am using my logic (husband) and possibly buying into some new ideas or possibilities (store). My logic determines that I should stock up on ideas or beliefs that aid in healing (medicine), to help with the assimilation of ideas or emotions or situations that I find difficult (stomach medicine).  These ideas or emotions or situations have to do with the material world (four).  This seems to foretell of events to come in which I will need large doses of healing thoughts to get through whatever difficulties will be presented.

I’m not sure what is coming, but it appears I am going to find it very difficult.

SOMETHING HAPPENS AT PARTY

Sometimes a dream can forewarn events to come, but be misleading as to who it will happen to.

In the dream, I was at a family party with my husband.  His sister and her wife were there, as well as one of his brothers and his wife.  We were at the brother’s house.  Everyone was drinking.  Everyone else drank much more than me.  At one point, my husband decided he was tired and went to bed.  Then at some point the brother’s wife decided to go into the bedroom and lay down with my husband.  I didn’t think anything of it as I know she is very playful.  She was in there a little while and then left.  I had continued doing whatever it was I was doing, then it either became another night and another party or it was the same night but later and my husband woke up again and rejoined the party.  I found myself alone in the living room and began thinking about my husband and my sister-in-law.  I became suspicious that maybe there was more to what had happened than I originally thought. My husband happened to walk into the living room while I was alone.  I asked him, “What happened when your sister-in-law went in the bedroom with you?”  He hesitated and I became even more suspicious.  I asked him, “Did something happen between you two?  Did you sleep together?”  He immediately said “No!” and I believed that, but it still felt like something had happened.  I asked him, “Did something else happen?”  He again hesitated and I said, “Something obviously happened.  What was it?”  He paused, and then said something in an English accent that I did not understand.   I asked him to repeat himself.  He obviously didn’t want to say it, but he slowed himself down and said, but again in the English accent, ” She gave me a “something”.  I had never heard the term before and asked him what it meant.  He told me “Blowjob”.  I knew he hadn’t sought her out or tried to make anything happen, and it wasn’t actual sexual intercourse so I was relieved at first.  But then the more I thought about it, the more upset I became. Tears came to my eyes, and I said, “You let her touch you!”  I walked away from him to be by myself.

SIGNIFICANT SYMBOLS:

Party/Gathering- something done with others for fun, enjoyment, and the benefit of all. Corresponds to a celebration, a recognition or a reward.

Drinking-may represent the inclination to escape or lose control.

Husband-actual husband or what he represents to me.  Suggests literal aspects of the relationship with one’s husband.

Brother-in-law- the relationship with the person themselves or a representation of an aspect of yourself.

House/Home-one’s personality or current situation or experience. The status of one’s state of consciousness.  For example, type of home or whose home can be a more clear indicator of what exactly is being addressed.   A friend’s home could indicate you are experiencing a current situation very similar to how you view your friend as living or thinking.  A haunted house adventure would indicate travelling through an experience which can be scary but is controlled.  An actual haunted house would indicate a state of consciousness filled with fears, thoughts, the past or that which keeps haunting one’s self.

Sister-in-law- the relationship with the person themselves or a representation of an aspect of yourself.

Family-can correspond to various aspects of oneself. May represent aspects of oneself in relationship to that person or talents, qualities, or experiences that one associates with that person. A parental figure could indicate the need to look after one’s activities. Might indicate a literal suggestion or a warning in terms of the person’s welfare.

Bed/Bedroom-sexual activity, intimacy, and passion.  Sleep, rest, the unconsciousness.

Sleep (asleep)-associated with being unconscious to the external environment.  The internal feminine, waiting to be awakened.

English Accent- trying to make what you’re saying seem better or more appropriate than it actually is.

Sex-can correspond to creativity, love, reproduction, or self gratification. May indicate a close relationship or the need to develop a unified relationship.

I am participating in something I enjoy with others, possibly part of a celebration (party/gathering).  Within this group of people, there is a tendency to want to escape or lose control in a big way and they do this on a regular basis (Brother and sister in law and drinking).  I don’t do it to the extent they do, but I do participate (being in the house with them).  I use my logic to help me in this situation (husband), probably by not losing control, but at some point I let my logic take a break (sleeping on a bed).  When I do this, my logic (husband) allows itself to be persuaded into allowing a period of self-gratification (sexual act) that is inappropriate.  Not intentionally, but it still allows it because it is fun to escape and lose control.  When I become more aware again (wake up) I think that this is not as bad as it seems.  But the more I think about it, the more I think that perhaps it really is a bad thing and examine it more carefully.  My logic tries to make it seems like it is not as bad as it really is (English accent). But when I completely understand the extent of the damage from me allowing myself to lose control, I am quite upset and not sure how to fix what I have done.

Upon translation, this dream appears to be about me allowing myself to be overly self-indulgent to the point I actually cause harm to myself.  This is frustrating and discouraging as it can be quite a battle mentally to not over indulge when it comes to diet and food or even staying spiritual.  I have entered a period where I have been over indulging and this is causing me problems.  If I don’t retake control of my habits, I will reach a point where the physical and/or mental results from my excesses might seem unbearable or unchangeable.  This is a warning and I must heed it or pay the price.

When I woke up from this dream, I was very upset, thinking that it could possibly be  literal.  I considered recent circumstances and determined that my husband and I hadn’t been in any situation like this, so it seemed unlikely this was about something that had already happened.  Sometimes my dreams are prophetic, and warn me of events that might be coming.  I had to consider that this was something that might come up.   So far, nothing.

But information did come to me about someone else and the circumstances of their situation were very similar to those in the dream. About two to three weeks after I had this dream, my husband and I were told of an incident that happened with a couple we know.  One spouse had been gone for a long period of time in another part of the country and during that time had an inappropriate relationship with another person.  Not a full sexual relationship, but an inappropriate intimate relationship.  At first, the spouse downplayed what had happened and made it seem not so bad.  But come to find out, more had happened and it was definitely inappropriate and destructive to their marriage.  They separated.  In this case, the dream imagery was more literal but not exactly true to what occurred in real life.  I represented the spouse who was wronged, my husband represented the spouse who did wrong, and my sister-in-law represented the person who initiated the wrongdoing.  The rest of the dream is about the wronged spouse coming to the realization that something inappropriate really did happen and it was very harmful to their relationship.

MOVING TO A BUS

I moved my work stuff into a very nice bus.  The bus was arranged so that there weren’t   many seats and each seat had a desk and plenty of space to work.  I set my desk up the way I wanted to, sat down and started happily working.  The bus had very large windows running the length of the bus on each side, lots of interior lighting and was pleasantly decorated.  There were other people on the bus but I didn’t pay any attention to them as I was busy with my own work.  It wasn’t crowded and felt very spacious.  It was a very pleasant work environment.  I looked out the window to my left (South) and noticed that a terrible storm was coming.  The sky roiled with black clouds and within just a minute the clouds filled the southern sky.  I saw flashes of white, red and yellow lightening throughout the clouds.  It was a storm the likes of which I had never seen in my life.  Then a man stepped out of the black clouds and onto the land that my bus sat on.  He was of Hispanic origin.  He was dressed very nicely in white casual slacks and a cream collared shirt.  The man had three or more lion cubs with him.  They were perhaps a year old, so they were big but not full grown.  He and the lions walked around the bus and stopped on the northern side.  He paid no attention to the bus but he did seem aware it was there.  I knew this man was extremely dangerous.  He seemed to be a drug cartel lord-someone deadly and without mercy.  He appeared to be in control of the area.  I knew I was safe inside the bus as long as he ignored it.  But I also knew that I would need to step out of the bus occasionally to take care of business for my work.  It would mean I would have to step into the midst of his lions and grab whatever it was I needed and then rush back to the bus.  I didn’t know if  I would be able to do that without being harmed or killed.  I was not looking forward to it.

SIGNIFICANT SYMBOLS:

Moving- can correspond to a change or progression in understanding or consciousness.

Bus-corresponds to a group of individuals all headed in the same direction, or an experience shared with others.

Work- One’s present occupation and/or one’s duty or obligation.  One’s feelings about work or what is going on there.

Desk-can correspond to one’s work situation and environment.  Putting in order/reorganizing (one’s work, thoughts, etc.)

Lighting/light-bringing something under investigation, a lesson/truth/knowledge coming to light. Associated with great lessons, great truths, or higher knowledge.  That which provides illumination for others. Could correspond to significant understanding or brilliance. The flash of a spiritual insight or important idea or experience.

Windows-associated with sight, awareness, attitudes, or that which is presented to the world.

Storm- changes or difficulties. An environmental upheaval, outbreak or disturbance of some kind (i.e. at work, home, etc.)

South- corresponds to the body and sexuality. Metaphysically, associated with the lower self.  May indicate materiality or past experience.

Black-knowledge associated with the unknown, the unconsciousness, or the suppressed. Mystery.  The unknown or unconscious knowledge we have which is being brought to our awareness.

Clouds- can represent the inability to see clearly due to one’s own mental state or emotions.

Lightening-might be indicative of emotional or mental outbursts. Warning sign for a forthcoming message or situation.

White-generally associated with purity, virginity, innocence, holiness, spiritual.  The ideal of completeness.

Red- associated with energy, trouble, misunderstanding, anger or lust.

Yellow- generally associated with intelligence and power. Intellect, wisdom, creativity.

Man-corresponds to the masculine side of one’s nature.  Masculine traits-strength, courage, determination, virility.  Independence.  Can indicate the negative side of masculine traits-aggression, dominance, etc.

Hispanic-very group/family oriented.  More relationship focused. More fatalistic, less time conscious.

Boss-one who is in authority.  A disciplinary or parental figure.

Criminal- the act of doing something one should not have done. Something unlawful, immoral, or out of character. Could correspond to intrigue, deception, or actual criminal activity. Drug Cartel Lord- one who deliberately misleads others out of their normal thinking and/or even possibly relinquishing their personal will.

Cream/Ivory- somewhat clouded from the truth. May be associated with resources or ideas that were obtained through negative means. Something partially revealed or that which possesses some degree of spirituality.

Slacks- one’s personal identity, philosophy, direction. That which one shows to the world.

Shirt- the outer personality shown to others.

Three- corresponds to the trinity (the triune nature of God). The body, mind and spirit, or the third dimension.

Lions- associated with great power, vitality, energy and courage. Into the lion’s den-to place oneself in a position of great danger.

Northern- corresponds to wisdom and aging. Metaphysically, associated with the Higher Self.

I make a change of consciousness (moving) into new thinking/being that I find very nice. I share this thinking with others who are also experiencing the same thing I am (on the same bus).  This change in thinking is with my current occupation or duties/obligations (work). I put in order or reorganize my thoughts/work (desk). This change in thinking comes with great knowledge (good lighting) and clear awareness of what is happening (many big, clean windows).  Because of this, I am suddenly aware that changes or difficulties have come to my work or environment (storm).  This seems to stem from materiality (South).  This storm is caused by others inability to see clearly because of their emotions and/or thinking (clouds) as they receive knowledge they didn’t have before (black).  There will be emotional and/or mental outbursts (lightening). Some will be positive and show spirituality (white) and others will show intelligence (yellow) and others will show anger or misunderstanding (red).  Out of this upheaval will come a person of authority (boss) with a group mentality (Hispanic) who leads strictly in the disciplinary or authoritative role (man).  He will have a casual, modern identity (slacks) and personality (shirt) that he shows the world and is possessed of some level of spirituality (cream). He will mislead others out of their normal thinking and possibly even cause them to give up their personal will (drug cartel lord). He will seem wise as he assumes his position (northern) in the world.  He will have a great, growing power (young lions) which he exhibits physically, mentally and spiritually (three).  For the most part I am safe from him because he chooses to ignore people like me.  But sometimes I have to venture out to get what I need to accomplish my work.  When I do, I am putting myself in danger (into the lion’s den).  This won’t be often, but it will be more than once.

It appears I am being warned of a trying time coming to my environment.  I am well situated and more or less protected.  But there will be times when I will have to expose myself to accomplish what I need to.  This will be a scary time.  No sense of timing is given to indicate how long it will last, so I must expect it to last for at least a few years.  It feels like a permanent change in conditions.

FIRE IN TOWN

I was speaking to someone.  They told me the town I attended school at as a teen-age girl had experienced a terrible fire.  At least 80 percent of the town had been destroyed, including the school.  I could see a picture of the town as if I were viewing it from the air. I could see the destruction.  There was nothing left where the fire had been. I felt sad for the town as it had been a good place to be.

SIGNIFICANT SYMBOLS:

Town-one’s community, environment, or current situation. Depending on imagery, might be representative of group activities and teamwork (i.e. work) or the lack of it

School-associated with lessons and education provided by daily life.

Fire-that which overcomes, purifies or destroys. Associated with strong emotions. Could represent a burning issue. Could represent a consuming conditions in one’s experience environmentally, physically, emotionally or spiritually.

Burn-associated with extreme anger, frustration or irritation. That which is very important. To be mistreated or to get into trouble.

It is communicated to me (speaking) that in a current situation or community (town) there have been consuming conditions (fire) which have caused much destruction (most of the town being burned down).  These consuming conditions stem from extreme anger or frustration or a burning issue which has not been contained (burn). This situation or community will have to basically be rebuilt (over 80% destroyed) if it wishes to continue to exist.  I was once a part of this situation or community and learned many lessons and education (school) there.  It saddens me to see it like this.

This could apply to any number of situations.  But first, one must always apply a dream to oneself first and then the outer world second.  Being said, this could apply to a way of thinking I once had and have graduated from (attended school but finished) and I am now seeing it as being “under fire” (burning) and being destroyed by others’ anger and/or a burning issue which hasn’t been adequately dealt with.  This saddens me as this particular environment or community was a safe and helpful place to be.  It can be rebuilt but it remains to be seen if it will be.

Then the dream could also literally apply to the town in which I attended school as a teen-age girl and be a prophetic dream of something terrible that will happen to it.  I also think of the town in which I work as being just like the town I attended school at, so that the dream might apply to something happening within the town that I work at or even at my work itself.  Again, a prophetic warning.  Even though the trouble doesn’t seem to directly involve me, it could still effect me.  This would explain why I would receive this information.

One must always apply a dream to oneself first and then the outer world second.  The dream can also be applied to both situations, personal and the world, simultaneously.   But always apply to oneself first.

SPEAKING TO A BOY

I went to someone’s home for a party or gathering.  As I arrived, I saw my niece and her family go in. I stepped inside and saw one of my niece’s sons standing inside the hallway.  He looked at me and I said “Hi”.  He was only about four.  I asked him his name and he didn’t answer.  Then I think I asked him his age.  Again, no answer.  I said something else, and he spoke.  His answer didn’t have anything to do with what I was asking, and it was a little strange.  I didn’t understand what he was talking about.  As he spoke, he banged his head against the wall, hard enough that he was damaging the drywall.  It wasn’t so hard that he was hurting himself.  I didn’t tell him to stop.  I just rolled my eyes inwardly because I knew I would have to fix the wall.  This wouldn’t be the first time I fixed the wall in the exact same spot.  The boy finished speaking and followed his mother into the house.

SIGNIFICANT SYMBOLS:

Gathering/Party- something done with others for fun, enjoyment, and the benefit of all. Corresponds to a celebration, a recognition or a reward.

Niece-the person herself or what one thinks of that person.

Nephew-the person himself or what one thinks of that person.

Boy-may represent an idea, a project or a person of about the same age.

Four-associated with stability, materiality, and something that is of the earth.

Talking/Speaking-communicating/understanding

Wall- symbolic of an obstacle that stands in the way or that might be overcome.  May represent a protective barrier, shelter, or boundary.

Head- ideas, intentions, or one’s current state of mind.

Hole/Damage- a dark situation, experience, or passage.

I am sharing a celebratory (party) experience (house) with others.  I observe a particular person in that experience (niece) who has a belief related to stability or materiality (four). I find this person immature, and so her belief would probably be very materialistic.  I try to gain knowledge of this idea (talking/speaking), but I don’t seem to ask the right questions (no answers).  When I do receive information, I don’t understand it (boy speaking of something I don’t understand). This materialistic idea intentionally creates a dark situation or experience (hole) using the ideas or intentions inherent in it (head). This harms the protective boundary that is kept (wall) within this particular experience (home) .  I know I have to repair the damage that is created (fixing the hole in the wall), even though technically it is not my responsibility (not my son/idea).  I have done this before.

Considering the imagery, this certainly seems to relate to family issues and the trouble that can arise when different people are thrown together as a group who love each other but don’t necessarily like each other.  There can be such a difference in perspectives and views of life that it is impossible to even communicate.  What one person believes can actually harm the experience shared by all.  But we don’t have to allow the damage to persist.  We can work to correct it, even when we are not responsible for it.

LIVING IN A STORE

Odd dream.

An Hispanic woman and I had just moved in together as roommates.  The woman and I seemed to be friendly with each other even though we didn’t really know each other. We set our bedroom up with twin beds and shelves and other odds and ends.  I tried hard to make it a practical arrangement while also appealing to the eye.  I stepped out for just a little while and then came back in and looked at the arrangement again.  It was workable but not the most appealing.  I thought we would just need to live in it for a while and then change things as we decided what we liked and didn’t like.

Our little apartment seemed to be placed at one end of a large, upscale grocery store. One wall was open and anyone in the grocery store could see into our apartment.  They could even walk in if they wanted and touch our things or even take them. It was very odd but for whatever reason we had agreed to this.

We had another room which acted as our living room.  I stepped into the living room to see how that looked and found two Hispanic men in there.  I think one of them was my husband.  He and the other man had come in and looked around to make sure everything was safe for the situation.  My husband had moved a few things and even put a loaf of bread away into a drawer so that no customers would come and help themselves.  I didn’t like the bread being in the drawer but again decided to wait to move anything until we had lived with the arrangement and had a better idea of what would work for us.  I considered different places for the bread but left it where it was.

SIGNIFICANT SYMBOLS:

Apartment-One’s place of residence. Temporary lodging or condition.  One’s current situation or experience or personality.

Hispanic- very group/family oriented.  More relationship focused. More fatalistic, less time conscious.

Wall- symbolic of an obstacle that stands in the way or that might be overcome.  May represent a protective barrier, shelter, or boundary.

Living Room- one’s state of mind or environment.  Could correspond to one’s daily activities or a more formal and public life.

Men/Man- corresponds to the masculine side of one’s nature.  Masculine traits-strength, courage, determination, virility.  Independence.

Bread- that which is needed (kneaded) or used for one’s own physical, mental or spiritual well-being, development or success.

In my current situation or experience (apartment), I am becoming quite intimate with a more relationship focused (Hispanic), maternal (woman) ideal.  This is definitely seen in my intimate relationships (beds/bedroom) and reflects more cooperation, union and adaptability (two).  At the same time, others can observe me in this process (living in store) and decide that what I am doing is something they might want to try (grocery store).  I still have a protective barrier (wall) to help shield me from others but it is easily overcome if others decide to try it.  This new ideal is also seen in my current daily activities or public life (living room). I use strength, courage, determination (men) to protect myself during this time.  I have what I need (bread) to keep me sustained but I am very protective of it and keep it hidden for now.  Later, I will be more open.

This indicates a new phase I am entering where the ideal I live by is warmer and more nurturing.  I exhibit this in my personal life and my everyday life.  This is a behavior others can notice and imitate if they so desire.  For now, I hide the basis of this ideal I have adopted but will show it later once I have become accustomed to living in this particular way.  This indicates a good step forward in my growth.

BLOODY GIRAFFE

Odd dream.

I was at my home in the living room.  A man was with me, possibly my husband.  He had dark hair.  We were working on something when there was a knock on the door.  I went to the door and looked through the peephole to see who it was, as I wasn’t expecting anyone.  A man and a giraffe stood there.  I didn’t know the man.  I looked at the giraffe and was immediately terrified.  He was covered in blood and deep gashes and bruises.  He looked like he was dead and yet walking around. And he was looking at the door in an intelligent manner, an equal to the man.  I stepped away from the door quickly and signaled to the man in the house to be quiet.  I ran to the kitchen and looked carefully through the window to see if they were still there.  The giraffe stepped towards the window and looked in. I ducked behind the wall and crouched on the floor.  The giraffe dipped his head and looked directly at me, as if he could see me through the wall.  This scared me even more. I didn’t want anything to do with him.

SIGNIFICANT SYMBOLS:

Home- one’s personality or current situation or experience.

Living room-one’s state of mind or environment.  Could correspond to one’s daily activities or a more formal and public life.

Man-corresponds to the masculine side of one’s nature.  Masculine traits-strength, courage, determination, virility.  Independence.

Black-knowledge associated with the unknown, the unconsciousness, or the suppressed. Mystery.  The unknown or unconscious knowledge we have which is being brought to our awareness.

Hair-Ideas, thoughts, creativity, intellect, state of mind, mental processes.  The thinking that one has.

Work-One’s present occupation and/or one’s duty or obligation.  One’s feelings about work or what is going on there.

Door-an opportunity, experience, idea or new pathways to personal expression.  Unexplored regions of the self.  Front door, what is coming next.

Giraffe- ability to see from above. Something that is out of reach.  The will. Might have a great distance between one’s thoughts (head) and one’s emotions ( heart).

Blood- represents the physical forces of life itself. Can correspond to the ideas and ideals flowing through a person’s body. Bleeding in a dream might indicate you are pouring too much of yourself into whatever you are doing. Symbolic of the sacrifice of Christ.

Cuts/Gashes- the opening of something. Limitations that have been held in. Something that effects or hurts deeply.

Dead-Dead (death)-the end of an idea, an experience, a project or relationship.  Symbolic of a transition or change.

Kitchen-where one is fed or nurtured physically, mentally, spiritually.

Window-associated with sight, awareness, attitudes, or that which is presented to the world.

In this dream, I am using a particular way of thinking (home) in my daily activities (living room). This particular way of thinking includes a masculine energy (man) that exhibits an understanding of the unknown or unconscious (black hair).  There is an opportunity, experience or idea ready to enter my life (door), but I am afraid of it. It is another masculine energy (man) with the ability to view a problem or situation in its entirety while remaining emotionally distanced (giraffe).  This ability frightens me as it requires a commitment to be open (cuts/gashes) to self-sacrifice (blood) to use it. It is a change (dead) coming to my particular way of thinking, and I am very scared of what will be asked of me.  I try to use my awareness to understand what is coming (window), and then to hide away from it using thinking that has nurtured me before (kitchen). But I cannot stay hidden from this (the giraffe looking at me).

I am afraid of the change that is coming.  Change might involve living in a slightly different way than I have before, but that doesn’t mean that I won’t like the change once I get used to it.  Hopefully, it is not the kind of change that completely turns one’s life upside down in a bad way.
