BUYING A PURSE

In this dream, I was with three other women. I told them I needed to buy a new purse but I didn’t want to pay full price. They suggested two or three stores in the mall that might have purses at discounted prices. We were at the mall, and so we went to each store and looked. But I couldn’t find a purse I liked. I had stepped away from the women and was wondering where else I could look, when a tall thin man approached me. He spread a table in front of me and told me to wait to buy my purse until I went on my cruise with my husband and kids. As he spoke, I saw myself on the cruise with my family, getting off at a designated port to sightsee. He told me I would find my purse there, then on the table several Coach brand purses appeared in various styles. I knew then I would have to wait to find what I wanted.

SIGNIFICANT SYMBOLS:

Three-Body, mind and spirit. Trinity.  Great strength.  May represent a particular situation or experience of the same age in your life.

Woman-Can represent the emotional, intuitive, family, or maternal instincts.  An idea, project, or person who is represented by the symbol of the woman with similar characteristics and/or behaviors.

Purse- associated with one’s material resources or security. Can correspond to one’s identity. That which carries one’s ideas, resources, attitudes, or emotions.

Store/Restaurant- a place where one might buy any need, idea, or possibility (i.e. physical-literal diet or food for thought; mental-a new image or attitude; spiritual- where to search next in one’s journey)

Cruise-Ship-one’s life journey. Having a particular spiritual voyage or experience. Obstacles along the way cause a spiritual inundation due to the obstacle. One’s life journey might be adjusted or redirected.

Table- putting things out in the open.  One’s family.

In this dream, I try to use my mind/body/spirit (three) feminine instincts (women) to search for a new identity or means of providing material resources or security (purse) – a job. I use logic and search areas where I should be able to find this new identity/means of providing resources (store/restaurant), but I am not successful. Spirit tells me to wait until I have moved further in my life’s journey (cruise) to a particular experience that I share with my husband and children. Then I will find what I am looking for when everything is put out in the open (table). I will be able to pick the identity or means of providing material resources that I like the most (variety of purses) and it will be very nice (Coach purse-expensive high end purse).

I actually am trying to find a new career. I have been clearly told to wait.

HOLES IN MY JEANS

In this dream, I was looking at a pair of jeans I was wearing. I noticed I had several large holes on my upper thighs and the seams were ragged at the waist and inner thighs. I decided I had better buy a new pair.

SIGNIFICANT SYMBOLS:

Pants-one’s personal identity, philosophy, or direction.  Type of pants: Jeans (getting down to work or easy journey).

I am looking at myself and realize I have a philosophy of work or direction (jeans/pants) that needs to be replaced (full of holes and ragged). I have used it as much as I should. I determine to replace it (buy a new pair of jeans).

Reviewing one’s philosophies or directions of thought/movement can sometimes reveal the need for a change and/or correction. In this dream, I am shown I will do the work and replace a certain philosophy or direction of thought. A good dream.

SWIMMING AND FLYING

This is my husband’s dream from just a few weeks ago.

He was standing at the side of a strong river. He wanted to swim in it, but hesitated as it was so strong. But then he made the decision and jumped in. He began swimming and realized it was easier than he had thought it would be and he was fine. Once done, he got out and at some point started flying. He was flying everywhere and having a great time.

SIGNIFICANT SYMBOLS:

River- associated with a flow of spirit, information, or insight. May be associated with one’s life path or direction.

Swimming- associated with being engulfed in spirituality, emotions, feelings, creative ideas, a goal, or a project. Feeling relaxed and assured could represent feeling confident in one’s present situation.

Flying- to journey freely through one’s understanding. Associated with rising above or overcoming a situation or experience. May be symbolic of astral or mind travel.

My actual husband observes a flow of spirit, information or insight (river) that he is not famaliar with. He feels it is very powerful (strong) and hesitates to fully immerse himself in it, but finally makes the decision and does it. He is engulfed in whatever this flow consists of- emotions, feelings, spirituality, etc. (swimming). Even though it is powerful, he finds he can handle it easily (swimming without problems) and he enjoys it. He then decides to journey freely through this new understanding (flying) and finds he is able to fully explore it (flying everywhere). He finds himself really liking it.

My husband is expanding his consciousness and exploring new ideas and/or spirituality. He will find himself much more comfortable with it then he thought and truly enjoying this new expression of understanding. A good dream.

CLEANING MY EARS

I was speaking to my husband. As I did, I cleaned my ears. I pulled out very large pieces of ear wax from each ear. The wax was actually like hard rocks, ugly and brown. The rock wax from the right ear was at least twice as big as the rock wax from the left ear. I commented on this to my husband. He watched and said nothing.

SIGNIFICANT SYMBOLS:

Talking/Speaking-communicating.

Husband- actual husband or what he represents to me.  Suggests literal aspects of the relationship with one’s husband.

Ears- associated with listening or the need to be heard. Could indicate openness or receptivity or the lack of it.

Left- receptive, open-minded, liberal.  The unconscious part of one’s self.

Right- may indicate a proper choice, good judgment, or a correct direction.  Fixed, conservative.

Brown- associated with the earth or the material world.

Ear Wax- a blockage to listening or being receptive.

Rock- difficulties that need to be overcome or gone around.

I am communicating (talking) with my actual husband. In the process, I clean out (take out of ear) blockages to my receptivity (ear wax) of difficult (rock), materialistic (brown) ideas that others are saying (ears). I have more difficulty with conservative ideas (right) as compared to liberal ideas (left). My husband notices I am being more receptive.

In other words, I am becoming more receptive to ideas that I would not have listened to before. I am able to hear these ideas and consider them instead of rejecting them outright. This is true of conservative and liberal ideas. It appears I have had more difficulty with conservative ideas. This new openness is observed by my husband.

GIANT IS AFTER ME

In this dream, I was with my father. We were outside in a small town . A giant came up to us. He was ugly and seemed mean. He told me that he was taking me prisoner and that he would be back for me in just a little bit. This terrified me as I knew he would rape and torture me. I probably wouldn’t live through the experience. There seemed no way to stop him. My father told me to go to the strip mall across the street. I was supposed to go there and do something anyways, but he told me to go all the way down to the basement and hide there as I completed what I was supposed to. I fled to where he directed me. The basement was at least three stories underground, with a somewhat narrow staircase. I knew it was too far down for the giant to get me. I began working on what I went there to accomplish. In the meantime, I could see where my father was. The giant had come back looking for me. When he couldn’t find me, he captured my father (who looked my husband), and tied him down. He demanded to know where I was. My father refused to tell him. The giant told my father that if he didn’t say where I was, he would torture him until he did. My father still refused. The giant began to torture him. I knew my father wouldn’t be able to withstand the pain and would eventually tell the giant where I was. I felt terrible that my father was being tortured just to save me. Finally, he told the giant my location and the giant came for me. He swung his arm down the staircase but couldn’t reach me. He tried several times, then became enraged when he still couldn’t get to me. He began storming about the strip mall and parking lot, damaging everything he could. The store owners fought back and drove him off. I saw one of them, a woman, who owned the store right above me. She looked fierce. The giant came again after a time, and again the store owners fought back while I stayed safe in the basement. After they drove the giant away the second time, the woman called down to me and told me I could come out. She told me it was time to fight the giant one last time and defeat him for good. We were going to where he lived this time and finish him there. I assumed I would be fighting with them.

SIGNIFICANT SYMBOLS:

Outside- what one is cultivating currently.

Town/City- one’s community, environment or current situation. Could be associated with various aspects of the self.

Giant- people or conditions that are threatening or present themselves as obstacles. May indicate that which has the brawn but not the brains (the power but not the insight).

Ugly- that which is unpleasant to look at. May be symbolic of a negative activity or behavior in oneself or others.

Father- represents authority, leadership, or power.  Can also represent what one thinks of their actual father.

Kidnapped- that which is taken unlawfully. Can correspond to that which is under complete control by another.

Prisoner- associated with one who is being controlled or trapped by circumstance, conditions, feelings, others, or the environment.

Rape- corresponds to being forced into submission. An aggressive assault against one who is in a position of vulnerability.

Torture- associated with great pain, revenge or control. Can correspond to emotional anguish or distress.

Dead (death)-the end of an idea, an experience, a project or relationship.  Symbolic of a transition or change.

Strip Mall (stores)- a place where one might buy any need, idea, or possibility (i.e. physical-literal diet or food for thought; mental-a new image or attitude; spiritual- where to search next in one’s journey)

Stairs- associated with rising or descending to another level (i.e. in consciousness, awareness, success, spirituality, etc.)

Basement- can correspond to the unconscious or subconscious mind. Might correspond to untapped wisdom, information, or intuition.

Work-One’s present occupation and/or one’s duty or obligation.  One’s feelings about work or what is going on there.

Battle/Fight- a conflict with others or portions of one’s self. Could be associated with the need to fight for what’s right.

Three-Body, mind and spirit. Trinity.  Great strength.  May represent a particular situation or experience of the same age in your life.

I am working on something (outside) in my current situation or environment (town/city). I believe that people or conditions are threatening (giant) to take something from me (kidnapped) and I clearly see that I will be forced into submission (rape) and possibly caused great emotional distress or anguish (torture), if not outright forcing me to change into something I don’t want (death). I follow the guidance (father) of logic (looks like my husband) and find a place to explore untapped wisdom in my subconscious mind (basement) by escaping to another level (stairs) of body/mind/spirit (three) consciousness. This is a place not everyone can get into (narrow). I do this in a place of thinking where I can buy new ideas, etc. (strip mall). There logic directs me to continue to work on what I need to (work on my current obligations or occupation). In the meantime, my logic (father/husband) is assaulted by the conditions presenting themselves and suffers great emotional anguish/distress (torture) until finally it gives access to where I am protecting myself. But even then, my temporary state of consciousness (working in the basement) still gives me protection and I find the outside forces (giant) are unable to harm me. I also observe others fighting those outside forces (giant) to beat them back and conquer them. This happens twice and then I am called upon the join the fight (to help fight for what is right).

I believe this addresses what is happening now in the USA with Covid-19 and the political fight against President Trump. That is basically all we hear about on the national news. The viewpoints presented by most of the news stations are very liberal leaning. It is frustrating when you are trying to use logic to figure out what is right or wrong but can tell that you are only being presented with one viewpoint or interpretation of information. We will see how the battle wins out in the end.

SKUNK IN THE HOUSE

In this dream, my husband and I entered our living room.  We immediately saw there was a skunk in the room.  He ignored us and continued to explore something he had found. My husband walked around him and sat down.  I asked him, “Don’t you think we should do something about the skunk?”  He said, “No, just leave him alone.  If we try to catch him, he might spray us and make us smell really bad.”  I knew he was right about that but I was still leery of leaving him in the living room.  It seemed to me that he could turn into a problem at any time. I moved further into the room and began to do what I came for.

SIGNIFICANT SYMBOLS:

Husband- actual husband or what he represents to me.  Suggests literal aspects of the relationship with one’s husband.

Living Room- one’s state of mind or environment.  Could correspond to one’s daily activities or a more formal and public life.

Skunk- might represent a stinky situation or that which creates a real stink.

My actual husband and I observe a stinky situation (skunk) in our daily or public life (living room). My husband recommends that we leave it alone and continue on with what we are doing. I am thinking this is not the best idea as it could possibly turn into a real problem at some point, but I don’t know how to address the issue without causing a real problem.

I could think of several issues currently that this could be applied to. Hopefully, nothing will actually happen to make my husband and I “smell” bad.

EARTHQUAKE BEGINS

I was outside of my house, by an open window.  There was a puddle on the ground in front of the window.  I saw the water begin to ripple across the puddle and then noticed the window shade in the open window swaying back and forth.  I realized we were experiencing an earthquake.  I yelled to my husband, “We’re having an earthquake!”  He yelled back that he could feel it.  We braced ourselves.

SIGNIFICANT SYMBOLS:

House- one’s personality or current situation or experience. The status of one’s state of consciousness.

Window- associated with sight, awareness, attitudes, or that which is presented to the world.

Puddle (water)- the source of all life, sustenance, understanding, or wisdom. May represent emotions, the unconscious or subconscious, or the soul.

Window shade- the opening or closing of a portion of one’s life or a death. That which conceals, cloaks, hides, or obscures visions.

Earthquake- may indicate a warning or a message. Can indicate a shattering or problem situation. An emotional upheaval. Might indicate a real earthquake.

Husband- actual husband or what he represents to me.  Suggests literal aspects of the relationship with one’s husband.

I am in a current situation or experience (house).  Through my wisdom (puddle/water), I become aware (window) by an opening of the veil that obscures or hides visions (window blinds moving) that there is a shattering or problem situation (earthquake). I discuss this with my actual husband and he agrees.  We work to prepare ourselves for the problems this will bring.

I had this dream in February of 2020. By that time, there were a lot of news stories online and on television about the “Wuhan Virus”, later to be called the Covid-19 virus.  I paid attention and began thinking we were going to have a real problem and I did discuss the matter with my husband.  But I had no idea at the time that we would actually lock down the entire world to “flatten the curve” of the spread of the virus, leading us into a potential world depression.  I already hear talk of the inequities of the health care system and social classes in the U.S.A.  I could see long-term repercussions resulting in permanent change to our society to change those inequities (an earthquake felt by all).  Only time will tell .

DAMAGE TO MY CAR

My husband borrowed my red car to run an errand.  In the meantime, I used his truck and ran an errand of my own.  When we were both done, we needed to do an errand together.  We climbed into my red car.  Before my husband started, he told me that someone had hit my car.  He wasn’t in the car when it happened, he just noticed it.  He said it was on the passenger side.  It was possible the damage was there before he drove the car and I didn’t notice.  We stepped out of the car to look.  I had to look hard at first, but then I noticed a wrinkle in the door right by the side mirror.  And then I noticed another wrinkle below it.  My car had definitely been damaged by another car.  A student from my school happened to be walking by with his friends and saw it as well.  He said, “Your car was definitely hit by someone.”  I stepped back a little and noticed that my headlamp was damaged and there was more damage to the body around the headlamp. The headlamp wouldn’t work unless it was fixed.  I wasn’t sure if we would report this to the insurance company as I just had my white car fixed the month before for something similar.  If we didn’t get it fixed, then I needed my husband to fix the headlamp so that I could safely drive.

SIGNIFICANT SYMBOLS:

Husband-actual husband or what he represents to me.  Suggests literal aspects of the relationship with one’s husband.

Car/Automobile-symbolic of yourself, your work, or your current situation.  What the car is doing could be indicative of how it is going.  For example, speeding could indicate a possible dangerous situation or rushing to achieve your destination.

Red-Desire (lust), energy, trouble, misunderstanding or anger.  One’s desires.

White-generally associated with purity, virginity, innocence, holiness, spiritual.  The ideal of completeness.

Truck-that which can carry people, belongings, ideas, etc.  May be associated with oneself, one’s work, or one’s current situation.

Door-an opportunity, experience, idea or new pathways to personal expression.  Unexplored regions of the self.  Front door, what is coming next.

Headlamp- Lighting/light-bringing something under investigation, a lesson/truth/knowledge coming to light. Associated with great lessons, great truths, or higher knowledge.  That which provides illumination for others.

Insurance- corresponds to personal protection. May indicate that one is assured of the proper outcome.

I apply my logic (my husband) to help me achieve my desires for myself (red car).  In other areas of my life, I use my practical spiritual ideals (white truck) to accomplish other goals. When I am ready to again use my logic towards my desires (red car), I realize something outside of my control has caused harm (dents in red card) to my desires.  They appear less attractive (damage to car) to me but I am still able to experience ideas or pathways (door) to help me achieve them or work towards them.  But real damage has been done to my ability to more clearly see the great lessons, truths or knowledge (headlamp) that I can gain in regards to my desires. I need to use my logic (my husband) to fix it myself or determine if I need help (insurance) to fix this damage.

In other words, there are things I would like to do using my wit and logic, but I have become discouraged in my ability to accomplish these things .  This is due to circumstances outside of my control.  But it is possible for me to overcome this discouragement and still do the things I would like to do.  I just need to be persistent and make the effort to more clearly see the lessons, truths or knowledge that I can gain as I work towards my desires.

RECEIVING A MESSAGE

I was very worried about my daughter and then had this dream.

It seemed many things were happening around me but I don’t remember what any of them were.  It seemed chaotic. I was very worried about my daughter and wondered if she had found a solution to the problem she was having. My daughter was then in front of me in the midst of everything that was happening.  She smiled and looked very happy.  She told me, “I figured it out.”  I took this to mean that she had found a solution to her problem that she was happy with.

SIGNIFICANT SYMBOLS:

Daughter- Can represent the relationship with your actual daughter or a warning about your daughter or what she might represent to you.  That part of one’s self that might need direction.  Might represent someone else who is like your daughter in personality or relationship.

Worry- may represent another situation with which one is concerned. Associated with restlessness and worry.

Chaos-may be symbolic of the challenges one is currently facing. Could be associated with emotional problems and upsets.

Sometimes I will receive direct messages from other people.  This is a direct message from the person I was concerned with letting me know she had figured out a solution to her problem.  The way she smiled and told me her news lets me know that her soul is quite happy with the decision made.  The reality of the decision might actually be quite difficult so that once I know what was actually done I would think it wasn’t a great decision.  But her soul is quite happy with the decision.  Sometimes the decisions we make don’t come with easy results or even the results we would like to achieve, but our Soul will be happy because we made a decision that helps in our growth towards God.

WILD HAIR

A dream letting me know I would be a little wild.

I saw myself in the dream.  I noticed my hair.  It was not its normal style, neat and combed.  Instead, it looked very frizzy and puffy, with no style at all.  I almost looked like a crazy person.

Significant Symbols:

Hair- ideas, thoughts, creativity, intellect, state of mind, mental processes.  The thinking that one has.

I am passing through a period where my thinking is “wild” (wild hair). To me it seems almost “crazy”.

I am going through a period of time when I am unsettled in my thinking.  Some of it has to do with my work circumstances and how I feel about it.  But some of it has to do with my children and the suffering I am seeing them experience through their poor choices.  I have yet to come to a satisfactory state of mind concerning any of it, and it makes my thinking chaotic.  It is not fun.

This was also a warning of an event to come.  Later in the day, I was at work and an incident happened in which several students were misbehaving. I had to step in and gain control as they were being very unruly.  I had to be very strict and loud.  I am sure I looked like a crazy person to them.  Even though I had the warning from the dream, I wasn’t expecting the event and merely reacted to what was happening.  If I had really given it some thought beforehand, I might have managed better composure.  Which would have been a good idea because of the students.  They remember when someone seems unreasonable. I don’t like it when I have negative experiences with other people.  Knowing the effect the dream says I had, I could use this information to temper my interactions with the students in the future so that the result is more positive but still produces the desired results.   This incident made me think of a positive reward we could give the students if they behaved in this specific situation.  We implemented the reward and it has in fact been working quite well, to our benefit and the students.

As you can see, a dream can give two messages using the same symbology.  Always apply the dream first to yourself, then extend it outward to others and actual events.
