WEARING MY UNIFORM TO A MEETING

I dream about my job a lot!

I was at work and about to go to an important meeting.  I stepped to a mirror and looked at myself.  I was wearing my old military uniform.  I was only wearing it for this meeting and for some reason it was required.  I also knew I wouldn’t have to wear it again.  I weigh more than I did when I served, so of course I looked bigger.  But the uniform also seemed to be almost too big and made me look even larger.  I studied myself and thought the uniform would look nicer if the skirt fit more tightly, but it was too late to adjust it. The meeting was in just a few minutes and it was time to go.  I was aware that there were women I worked with paying attention to what I did at this meeting and waiting to see what would happen.

SIGNIFICANT SYMBOLS:

Work-One’s present occupation and/or one’s duty or obligation.  One’s feelings about work or what is going on there.

Mirror- that which reflects one’s own image, experience or situation. The reflection may have to do with the symbolism: a poor self image, a split personality, etc.

Military- corresponds to order, power, discipline, or the relinquishment of personal will. Can represent a warlike environment or situation. Associated with placing oneself subservient to a greater goal or good.

Uniform- associated with one’s duty, occupation, or state of mind. Might be associated with fairness or balance.

Skirt- can correspond to one’s image, appearance, or a particular experience

Overweight- something excessive, overly pronounced, or very productive, or actually overweight.

I am at my present occupation (work) and am about to have a meeting to decide some issue.  I am prepared to fight (military) for what I think should be done to achieve fairness or balance in my occupation (uniform).  In observing myself, I appear to be overly productive (overweight).  I would like my situation (image) to be better (how the skirt fits) but can’t correct it as of this time.  I must fight for what I think is right. I am also serving as an example for others who can see what is happening.

This is a good example of a prophetic dream which reviews a situation to occur and reveals how I think and feel about what will happen.  Just a few days after I had this dream, I had a discussion with my boss in which I had to explain certain realities about my work and that I needed help.  I had to stand my ground as I beat down the unrealistic expectations of management.  The situation is not settled yet, so the battle is still on.  But the dream was helpful in that it showed my perception of what is happening and how I react to it.  It was an encouraging dream because it showed I have the courage to stand up for myself.  The dream also tells me that others are watching me and paying attention to how I handle this situation.
