SINKING SHIP

A dream from my daughter.

My daughter was at her current home.  She had to fight for her life in a Grand Battle event.  She won the battle and then moved to her current home.  Then we went on a cruise ship together.  This included my daughter, my husband, myself, her brother and his friends.  The group also included a family friend about the same age as my son.  We were all together, talking, when the ship started sinking just as the Titantic did. We knew we needed to leave, but we were having a hard time convincing my son and his friends to leave their room, even though there was smoke and chaos everywhere.

SIGNIFICANT SYMBOLS:

Home/House-one’s personality or current situation or experience. The status of one’s state of consciousness.  For example, type of home or whose home can be a more clear indicator of what exactly is being addressed.   A friend’s home could indicate you are experiencing a current situation very similar to how you view your friend as living or thinking.  A haunted house adventure would indicate travelling through an experience which can be scary but is controlled.  An actual haunted house would indicate a state of consciousness filled with fears, thoughts, the past or that which keeps haunting one’s self.

Fight-a conflict with others or portions of one’s self. Could be associated with the need to fight for what’s right

Ship-one’s life journey. Having a particular spiritual voyage or experience. Obstacles along the way cause a spiritual inundation due to the obstacle. One’s life journey might be adjusted or redirected.

Family-can correspond to various aspects of oneself. May represent aspects of oneself in relationship to that person or talents, qualities, or experiences that one associates with that person. A parental figure could indicate the need to look after one’s activities. Might indicate a literal suggestion or a warning in terms of the person’s welfare.

Friends-if the person is unknown to you, could indicate as aspect of yourself that needs to be befriended. Can be associated with aspects of ourselves in relationship to that person, or talents, qualities, or experiences that we associate with that person.

Smoke-Lack of clarity or insight.

Chaos-may be symbolic of the challenges one is currently facing. Could be associated with emotional problems and upsets.

Room-often represents aspects of one’s self.

This dream shows that my daughter is currently in a situation or experience (home) where she is in conflict (fight). This is a very important conflict (fight for her life) and she wins it. She then begins a spiritual journey or experience (ship) which is similar to what her father, brother and I are experiencing, as well as a few others we know. But there are obstacles along the way which cause a redirection of our paths (fleeing the sinking ship). There is a lack of clarity or insight (smoke) amidst the challenges this brings (chaos). Some of us have trouble accepting the need to change (refusing to leave the room on the ship), but we try hard to convince them because we recognize it must be done.  Willingly leaving the sinking ship (accepting redirection on one’s path when Spirit gives it) is much easier than being inundated by Spirit (drowning in the ship). Inundation by Spirit usually means lessons learned the hard way (loss of job, divorce, etc.)

This dream could be applied solely to just my daughter, as it was her dream, and every dream is specifically about the dreamer.   When interpreting from this point of view (which should always be the first point of view one takes in interpreting dreams), she has successfully passed a very difficult period in her life (winning the Grand Battle) and is now entering a new period where she must take on more responsibility mentally, spiritually and physically (as represented by her father, myself, and her brother). This is difficult because she cannot see clearly (chaos & smoke) what could happen if she doesn’t change.  She knows mentally and spiritually what she should do, but is having a hard time making those changes in the physical world. If she continues as she is, then she will suffer a very difficult lesson where she is “drowned by Spirit” (sinking ship).  If the soul desires that a specific lesson be learned, then the lesson will continue to be given (in varying degrees) until this is accomplished.

In this dream, one of the clues which helped me to determine what the dream could be hinting at was given in the form of the family friend who is around the same age as my son.  This young man is very smart but not very driven.  He would prefer to have less responsibility.  But the dream is saying that there comes a time in every person’s life when you need to do more- take on more responsibility- because life demands it.  If you don’t, then you might suffer a hard life lesson that could be difficult to overcome, such as divorce or being fired.  The dream clearly indicates that this lesson will be for those of us in the dream.
