Funny dream.

I was at home and my daughter showed up unannounced.  She was casually dressed in a black t-shirt and jeans and seemed to be carrying something in the front of her shirt . I had been about to leave and so had my purse in hand.  It was black and handheld and very business like.  Without a word, she opened my purse and stuffed hundreds of paper fortunes inside the purse.  This was what she had been carrying in the front of her shirt.  They were the paper fortunes you get in fortune cookies.  There were so many they overflowed from the top and bulged the purse out.  Hundreds, if not over a thousand.  Once done, she walked off to make herself comfortable in the house.  She seemed to be moving back in.   I was very surprised as I didn’t expect her home and certainly didn’t expect her action with the paper fortunes.

SIGNIFICANT SYMBOLS:

House/House-one’s personality or current situation or experience. The status of one’s state of consciousness.  For example, type of home or whose home can be a more clear indicator of what exactly is being addressed.   A friend’s home could indicate you are experiencing a current situation very similar to how you view your friend as living or thinking.  A haunted house adventure would indicate travelling through an experience which can be scary but is controlled.  An actual haunted house would indicate a state of consciousness filled with fears, thoughts, the past or that which keeps haunting one’s self.

Living Room-one’s state of mind or environment.  Could correspond to one’s daily activities or a more formal and public life.

Daughter-Can represent the relationship with your actual daughter or a warning about your daughter or what she might represent to you.  That part of one’s self that might need direction.  Might represent someone else who is like your daughter in personality or relationship.

Shirt- the outer personality shown to others.  One’s own thoughts, ideas, occupation.  A black shirt might symbolize a stance indicating one’s understanding of the “mysteries of God”.

Black-knowledge associated with the unknown, the unconsciousness, or the suppressed. Mystery.  The unknown or unconscious knowledge we have which is being brought to our awareness.

Jeans/pants-one’s personal identity, philosophy, or direction.  Jeans (getting down to work or easy journey).

Purse-that which carries one’s ideas, resources, attitudes, or emotions.  One’s identity.

Fortunes-wishful or hopeful thinking.

Moving-can correspond to a change or progression in understanding or consciousness.

This dream indicates a significant change in thinking for myself and/or my daughter.   In my current state of consciousness (at home), an aspect of my spirituality (daughter) makes itself known to me in my current state of mind (living room).    This aspect of my spirituality is shown in my outer personality (shirt) and shows some understanding of the “mysteries of God” (black).  It is part of my personal identity (pants) and indicates I might be “getting down to work” (jeans).  I am about to take care of something outside of myself (leaving the house to run errand or work) and am being “businesslike” in my attitude  while also showing an understanding of the “mysteries of God” in my attitude (black purse).  This new aspect of my spirituality has placed all of my “wishful/hopeful” thinking (fortunes) into this businesslike attitude I now have.  I am not expecting this and am not quite sure what to think when it is obvious that this new aspect of my spirituality seems to be staying.

This is indicative of a new development in my attitude/behavior  where the wishful thinking I indulge in becomes more focused on things I might actually be able to do and not just what I would like to do.  I would like to be a Rock star, but that is highly unlikely since I can’t sing.  Instead, I am more aware of my actual abilities and personal inclinations and am now more inclined to focus on what I can actually do versus what I would like to do.

This dream could also be about my daughter in real life, and changes she is making in her attitudes and behaviors.  Only time will tell.
