Sometimes I receive information about others-how they are doing, good or bad.

In the dream, my husband and I were speaking with his sister.  She has a son who is around 14.  She told us he was in a Rock Band.  This was the first time we had heard this and expressed surprise.  She told us to watch,  and we could suddenly see him playing the drums with his band.  We could not see the band, only him.  The music was very loud and in the very Hard Rock genre.  Even though this isn’t the music my husband or I like, the band played well and the song was good.  We were both quite impressed and told her. It was a wonderful surprise to see him doing so well at this hobby he had chosen.

Using the standard method, I should first interpret this dream for myself and not automatically think it applies to someone else.

I see many similarities between myself and my nephew, mainly because of how we were raised and allowed to behave.  This has led us both to unusual hobbies not taught to us by our parents. The hard rock band represents the means by which I am directing my energy (in an unusual fashion-Hard Rock) to deliver an important message.  The music is good, meaning I have managed to coordinate my energy so that it works well for a specific purpose.

Even though I think this message applies to what I am doing here with this blog, it could also apply to my paying job.  It is not the work I would have envisioned for myself, but I have grown to like it and try very hard to do a great job so that I help those I work with and not hinder them.

I believe this dream also specifically addresses an endeavor my nephew is participating in .  I have had a couple of conversations with his mother where she has told me he has been working on something specific and that he is doing quite well at it.  The means by which he is accomplishing this isn’t the norm and would not appeal to many (the hard rock band). He is able to use this unusual means to seek attention (the drums) by directing his energy (the music) into a specific focus/hobby. He is impressively successful at it.

As you can see, the dream applies to more than one situation.  I believe this happens frequently.  Even though my nephew and I aren’t doing the exact same thing, what we are doing is having the same effect on us as individuals and those around us we touch with our efforts.  I received the message about my nephew because it applied to me as well.  This is consistent with dreaming- whatever we dream about effects us (as individuals) in some way- physically, mentally, spiritually.
